                  R E V E R S I v1.00
                 ======================

by Stefan Bellon in February 1994

THE GAME:
You must try to cover all the board with the colour
you chose.

Every piece you set must lock in at least one piece
of the other colour. All the pieces of the other
colour which are surrounded by your pieces turn into
your colour.

It's as easy!

THE PROGRAM:
Use your mouse to choose the place to put a piece of
your colour.
Use the left lower buttons to choose between these
actions:
- SAVE GAME: You can save up to 32 games in your
!Reversi directory by pressing the button over
the name and enter a suitable comment for your
game. Clicking on Cancel doesn't save.
- LOAD GAME: You can load one of the games that have
been saved into your !Reversi directory by
simply clicking on its comment. Clicking on
    Cancel doesn't load.
- CHANGE COLOUR: Let the computer play your part and
    you its one.
- END GAME: Double-click to return to the RISC OS
    environment.

If the computer want's to tell you something watch
out for the scroll display. If you want the scroll
to run trough more quickly just press any key or
mouse button.

If it's your turn you can alter several defaults by
pressing some keys:
- Press SHIFT-A for turning on/off the animation of
    the changing pieces.
- Press a number from 1 to 5 in order to change the
    appearance of the pieces.
- Press + to increase the animation speed and
- press - to decrease the animation speed (only if
    animation is turned on!)
- Press SHIFT-U to undo the last move of the
    computer and your last move.
- Press < to decrease the strength of the computer.
- Press > to increase the strength of the computer.
This default values are saved and so if you reload
!Reversi your settings are loaded.
- Press R to restart. Be careful! Your current
  standings are lost!
- Press V to get the version number.
- Press S to get all the above default settings.

There's only one point to add:
You can start !Reversi also by double-clicking on a
file of the type Reversi from a filer directory
window. The saved status is loaded and can be
played. So it's possible to keep more than 32 saved
games if you copy them to another directory and
start them from there.

Now I wish you a lot of fun when playing
